This JHU news release announces our team’s NSF award to study atomic-scale defects in light metals. Our interdisciplinary effort spans microstructure modeling and experimental validation using PAS and APT.

Johns Hopkins highlighted my selection for the TMS 2024 travel grant and multiple invited talks at the annual conference. Topics included aluminum toxicity in Mg alloys and ML-assisted alloy design.

🏆 PURA Award to Undergraduate Mentee

JHU Engineering spotlighted Andrew Kim, my undergraduate mentee, for receiving the Provost’s Undergraduate Research Award (PURA) to investigate strength enhancement in Mg alloys via binary alloying and processing design.
