Sreenivas Raguraman
Ph.D. Candidate at Johns Hopkins University.
Designing materials from atoms to applications through processing, defect engineering, and microstructure control.
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, working with Prof. Timothy P. Weihs. I am also a visiting researcher at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and a former Foreign Guest Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
My research bridges processing science, defect engineering, and microstructure design to create materials that perform reliably in biomedical, aerospace, and energy applications. From biodegradable implants that safely dissolve in the body to alloys that endure extreme environments, I use advanced characterization techniques and collaborate across computational, biological, and industrial teams to accelerate the pathway from atoms to applications.
I earned my B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from NIT Trichy, with research internships at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and the National University of Singapore (NUS).
